FAQs

WHAT IS THE PAINT MADE OF? IS IT SAFE?

The colour powder paint is 100% natural, food and cosmetic grade tested to the highest FDA standards.  So it’s totally safe for you and your clothes.  The vibrant colours are actually made of corn starch.

Colour safety information:  Approved for use in foods and cosmetics. These products are not considered hazardous or toxic. Conforms to EU Regulation: (EC) No. 1223/2009

WILL THE COLOUR WASH OFF SKIN & OUT OF MY HAIR?

Yes!  The easiest way to get the paint off is while it’s still dry (shake, wiggle, jump up and down, vacuum, etc). After that, soap and water, with a little rinse and repeat action will do the trick.

CAN WE INHALE IT?

It’s a lot like breathing in dust, extensive exposure is not recommended.  However, no harm will come to you if you do.

CAN WE EAT THE COLOURS?

Not recommended.  It’s corn starch, but even though it looks delicious it will taste like dirt.  We recommend wearing it, not eating it!!!!

WHAT IF THE PAINT GETS IN OUR EYES?

All participants are encouraged to wear the funky sunglasses.  Not only will everyone look way more cool, but it will greatly reduce the chances of colour getting in your eyes.  However, never fear, the colour is non-toxic, a simple rinse with water will take care of it.

Remember, should you prefer to wear your own eyewear, no problem at all.  Whilst the funky sunglasses are adult size, smaller kids may find them tricky to run with, so please feel free to bring your own eyewear. (swimming goggles, own glasses, sunglasses etc.)

Please note the sunglasses do not conform to UV standards, they are for fun only and to keep the powder away from your eyes.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

All participants should wear a white T shirt or top to show the paint in its full glory.  Please wear anything else that you feel is appropriate for the weather and ground conditions.  The ground is uneven in some places, so please ensure your footwear is suitable for all terrains.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

The Colour Run will carry on whatever the weather – the rain can make it more fun (but slippier)!   Remember to take care at all times, it’s your responsibility to ensure you are happy taking part.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PAINT ON THE GRASS?

The paint that lands on the grass will wash away when it next rains, and because its made of natural corn starch, will not harm the grass or plants in any way.

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED?

To get the fun started, when you sign in on the day you will be given:

  • A funky wristband
  • Crazy coloured sunglasses
  • A sachet of coloured powdered paint

WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?

It’s totally up to what you and your doctor decide.  Pregnant runners have been having fun at colour runs all over the world.  Remember, to be on the safe side, wear your funky sun glasses and if you’d rather, put a bandana over your mouth and nose in the colour zones just for extra protection.  Ultimately, it’s your responsibility to ensure you are happy taking part.

ARE CAMERAS AND PHONES SAFE TO HAVE AROUND THE RACE?

Our friendly Colour Run photographer will be around the course taking photos. If you fancy taking photos yourself, it’s probably best done at the end especially as those colourful powder particles are sneaky and The Colour Run is not liable for any damage that might be done to your camera or phone!

WHERE I CAN SAFELY STORE MY BAG WHILE I RUN?

We have a special cupboard which is manned throughout the event as a free bag drop. Whilst we will endeavour to look after anything left in the cupboard, the risk and responsibility is yours.

CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG / CAT / TURTLE?

For the safety of our runners and animal friends, we do not allow animals to join in The Colour Run.  Please do not bring your pet to the event.

ARE THERE ANY REFUNDS OR CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

We cannot issue refunds or transfer any registrations.  The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible.  Just make sure you are good to go before signing up.  If for some reason you can’t run on the day, still come down and join in the fun and say hi to us!

WHERE CAN I PARK?

If you need to bring a car, we’re sorry that there is no parking at the Sports Club. However, The Knutsford Football Club (entry off Manchester Road) has limited parking as does The Knutsford Bowling Club (entry on Mereheath Lane).  Both the venues may change a small parking fee to raise funds for their own clubs.
